French presidential candidate: support France's withdrawal from NATO and regard Russia as a partner

[global network report] according to the news of "Russia today (RT)" on the 3rd, Jean Luc meilangxiong, candidate for the French presidential election and leader of the left-wing "unyielding France" party, called on the country to withdraw from NATO. The report believes that this shows that he regards Russia as a partner rather than an opponent of Paris.

In an interview with French media on the 3rd local time, Jean Luc Mellon Xiong shared his views on the new cold war and France's position in it. Mei langxiong said that France should participate in the efforts to "ease" the international situation, rather than follow Washington in launching a new cold war against China and Russia. He believes that a complete withdrawal from NATO is beneficial to France because it will not become part of the "military adventurism" of the United States.

"I support [France's] withdrawal from NATO. We have to ease the situation. If we withdraw from NATO, we will not be dragged into the cold war logic between the United States, Russia and China," he said.

Mei langxiong also said that he regarded Russia as a partner rather than an opponent of France. He said that it was the West that broke the commitment of NATO's eastward expansion and plunged NATO into the current impasse with Moscow. Mei langxiong also expressed opposition to accepting any plan for Ukraine to join NATO. He said such a move would further erode the security situation in Europe, because Moscow would inevitably see it as a new "threat" against it.

France will hold presidential elections in April 2022. French presidential elections are held once every five years and a two round electoral system is implemented. Current president macron was elected in 2017 and will serve until May 13, 2022. Mei langxiong, 70, is running for president for the third time. He failed to run for president for the first time in 2012. He founded the "unyielding France" party in 2016 and ran again as a candidate of the party in 2017. In the first round of the 2017 presidential election, Mei langxiong unexpectedly won 7 million votes, but the number of votes was not enough for him to enter the next round.
